The Maze

This project having started in Game Design and Development II, bounced around in a Production Studio class, and was just a side project for all involved. Our group knew we somehow wanted to blend Analog and Digital games and were inspired by Betrayal at the House on Haunted Hill’s fun that can only come with a board game, and its complexity that could be done better digitally. We were then further inspired by Barcode warrior sort of games to have QR codes bridge the gap. I helped lead the design of a paper prototype that proved to us that it was a little too complex to be very fun, but our initial Android app helped see some improvements. In Production Studio I gutted our bug-filled and awkward app and started to redo it. We’ve made a fair amount of progress and one day hope to continue to do so.

Our group calls itself “Mahalo”, including myself, Zane Draper, Christian Granville, and Yanting Cheung.
